Domestic Partnership Agreements
A domestic partnership agreement is a contract between two parties used to address issues such as the sharing of property, income, expenses, support obligations, etc. In addition to being a personal relationship, it also is a legal relationship between two people living together in an interconnected life and who are not traditionally married or joined in a civil union.
Domestic partnership agreements are used by unmarried couples regardless of whether they are same or opposite sex. It provides a framework within which you can create the structure you desire provided that the terms do not conflict with existing laws of New York State.
